Prof.Lahey’s Independent Evaluation of the FPR was released Nov 30, 2021. He urged the department to appoint  a person committed to ecological forestry to the vacant statutory position of the province’s Chief Forester. ‘Seems that is not about to happen.

Meanwhile we are 4 months into 2022 with a lot of consultations on the Lahey Recommendations expected or at least once promised, to be implemented by 2023. Perhaps those are not about to happen either;  this government has shown some disdain for public consultation around environmental issues.
